Midlands and Lancashire CSU (MLCSU) has been named as preferred provider of support services to the three Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) that buy health services for Worcestershire.
NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG, NHS South Worcestershire CCG and NHS Wyre Forest CCG have made the decision following the competitive procurement process within NHS England’s Lead Provider Framework.
MLCSU will begin providing services on 1 April 2016. The support services that will be delivered include:
• Business Intelligence
• Management of ICT services
• Payroll Contract Management
• Organisational Development
• Information Governance
• Equality & Diversity
• Freedom of Information request handling
Welcoming the outcome, MLCSU’s Managing Director Derek Kitchen said; “This is great news for our organisation and I’m obviously delighted at the CCGs’ announcement, which is a strong vote of confidence for our CSU.
“Working with Worcestershire’s CCGs is a strong strategic fit for the CSU in terms of geography and client base, giving us a great opportunity to grow the business into new areas, while maintaining our delivery to our current clients in the Midlands, Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire.
“I’m very excited about the opportunities we have to indirectly and directly improve patient care for Worcestershire’s 581,000 people.
Simon Trickett, speaking on behalf of the three Worcestershire CCGs said: “Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit was the highest scoring bidder following a robust and transparent tendering process. We are pleased with the outcome and are looking forward to working closely with the CSU over the next three years.”
