Steven heads up the Strategic Analytics Team. He has managed information and analysis teams in health and social care for 15 years, specialising in the application of epidemiological, statistical and operations research methods to develop and assess local healthcare policy.
Graduating from the University of Birmingham in 1991 with a BSc Hons. in Pure Mathematics, he went on to obtain a Masters in Public Health and Epidemiology at the same institution in 2007.
In 2014 Steven led an economic evaluation of the RAID (Rapid Assessment Interface and Discharge) psychiatric liaison service which was rolled out across five hospital sites in Birmingham and Solihull in 2012-13. More recently he managed an innovative project to model changes in demand for community, primary and social care services across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Steven led the design and implementation of one of the only externally evaluated outcome-based commissioning schemes in this country, a payment-by-results approach for smoking cessation services (PLoS ONE 10(4): e0123349. doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0123349).
