Increasing uptake of Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD)
Home » Case studies » Increasing uptake of Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD)
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, NHS England required a rapid increase in the uptake of Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) across the Midlands. We led a collaborative project with Arden and GEM Commissioning Support Unit , and East and West Midlands Academic Health Science Networks to address this need. The project implemented a comprehensive support program, including webinars, a dedicated helpline, and an online resource platform. As a result, the West Midlands saw a 28% average increase in eRD items, with significant engagement from healthcare professionals, leading to improved understanding and implementation of eRD practices across the region.
