Reducing medicines waste in Warrington with direct repeat ordering
Home » Case studies » Reducing medicines waste in Warrington with direct repeat ordering
In response to rising concerns about medicines waste, we partnered with Warrington CCG to pilot a patient-led repeat ordering system. By empowering patients to order their prescriptions directly from GP practices, we improved safety, reduced waste, and achieved significant cost savings. The project led to 18,028 fewer scripts issued monthly across pilot practices, resulting in an estimated cost saving of £108,365. Additionally, the initiative increased the use of online services, further streamlining processes.
