Developing a Trust-Wide Endoscopy Strategy for Northern Care Alliance
In March 2022, the Northern Care Alliance (NCA) commissioned NHS Midlands and Lancashire’s Transformation Unit to develop a comprehensive endoscopy strategy to tackle challenges across four units, including COVID-19 backlogs, reliance on private providers, and capacity constraints. Our goal was to deliver high-quality, sustainable endoscopy services that align with the Greater Manchester vision.
Through detailed analysis of capacity, demand, workforce, and estates, we collaborated with key stakeholders to create a strategy that addressed both clinical and operational challenges. The NCA approved and implemented the strategy, resulting in long-term improvements for patients and services.
