Implementing Electronic Repeat Dispensing in Halton and St Helens
Home » Case studies » Implementing Electronic Repeat Dispensing in Halton and St Helens
Our Medicines Management and Optimisation team supported NHS England’s initiative to implement the Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) service across Halton and St Helens CCGs. Over six months, we developed a standardised implementation process for GP practices, fostering collaboration between practices and pharmacies. This led to a significant increase in the uptake of Electronic Prescription Services (EPS) and eRD, with EPS utilisation rising by 7% in Halton and 10% in St Helens. The project also equipped GP practices to continue offering the service and expand it further.
