At NHS Midlands and Lancashire (NHS ML) we care about our people and work hard to look after their health and wellbeing.
Our dedicated health and wellbeing plan is aligned to the NHS People Plan 2020/21 to ensure that we prioritise our people and lead with compassion.
As part of the plan, we have set up two networks of staff volunteers; one to help with overall health and wellbeing and the other to support our people who may need assistance with their mental health.
We have 18 health and wellbeing champions throughout NHS ML to promote wellbeing across all staff, acting as enablers to drive our wellbeing support efforts forward and targeting areas where extra help may be needed.
To work alongside this network, we have invested further to support our people’s mental health, along with their physical health. We have a group of 15 Mental Health First Aiders who have completed accredited training with Mental Health First Aid England. The aim of the network is simple, to promote positive mental wellbeing, offer support to our people and help break down any associated stigmas linked to mental health.
With a people-centred approach, the wellbeing of our NHS ML family is always a priority.
“Together, WE make the NHS the best place to work. We are the NHS.”
